We met on a beautiful Sunday morning–just two days before the historical UW Memorial Union Terrace was set for construction.
It was super fun to be there before the summer crowd showed up! Once they did, we moved to the piers and Lakeshore Path. Runners and bikers and coffee-drinking walkers buzzed by as Rian and Luke squawked at the union ducks, flew across the docks, and explored the cool water and bobbing boats.
We were able to just hang out in a special place on the close of summer vacation while the kids were wholeheartedly themselves. Laughing, connecting, exploring. Honestly? The best. So best.
I so love the tones here–the blues, silver, and pop of coral in Rian’s dress. I also love the complementary texture between her dress and the subtle lake ripples.
This lean over is just so good–his body mimicking the arch of the ladder, his head well below the horizon line, and just such a kid thing to do.
I come back to the texture and color here!
Shoes, off! Beautiful.Gosh, I love this so. The sun dipped behind an unexpected cloud and highlighted the rocks just so. Luke, with flip flops in hand, walks along the rocks. I love the contrast between jagged rocks and smooth, rippled lake. xo, Jen
